Global superstar Taylor Swift has been increasingly in the spotlight over the last two years with a record-breaking tour and record-breaking concert film.
A new docuseries about Swift is coming to a streaming platform, but fans may not love hearing the details.
What Happened: The docuseries will focus on Swift’s feud with record executive Scooter Braun. With a tentative title of "Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood," the two-episode documentary comes from the "vs" series from Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD), according to Variety.
The series is being commissioned by Warner Bros. Discovery UK and Ireland and will stream on Discovery+ in the UK and Ireland in June. No other streaming plans have been announced outside of the UK.
The "vs" series previously included works on the battles between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
Braun famously purchased the rights to Swift's first six albums in June 2019 in a deal valued at $300 million.
"True to the ‘vs' format, the two episodes will examine the opposing sides of the argument; one exploring Swift's side that the sale was conducted without consulting her and that she has since been blocked from buying back her masters, and the other examining Braun's allegations that Swift refused to negotiate and instead incited a public feud by pitting her fan base against him," a plot for the series reads.
The series could explore the subject of music rights in detail and the power a global superstar can wield using her fan base. Legal experts, journalists and insiders will participate in the docuseries, according to the report.
"Taylor Swift's dispute with Scooter Braun over the ownership of her music exploded into the mainstream, taking contract law from boardroom to social media and into public interest," Warner Bros. Discovery's U.K.'s networks VP of Commissioning Charlotte Reid said.

Why It's Important: The docuseries could see strong interest from Swift's fans globally.
"It's a high-profile, high-interest story that opened debate on fandom and dominated headlines, one which will resonate with our viewers who are highly engaged with access-led documentaries like ‘vs,' which continues to be a popular format on Discovery+," Reid said.
The docuseries telling the story from Braun's point-of-view and his insiders could face backlash from Swift's fans or see the singer publicly speaking out to share her side of the story.
The docuseries only streaming in the UK and Ireland is one of the bigger storylines here with Swift's global fanbase.
Warner Bros. Discovery owns Max, a streaming platform available in various countries, including the U.S. docuseries featuring high-profile legal battles, such as those between Heard vs. Depp and Kardashian vs. West, were later made available on multiple streaming platforms, including Max.
Time will tell if the Swift docuseries makes its way to the states and other markets.
WBD Price Action: Warner Bros. Discovery shares trade at $7.93 versus a 52-week trading range of $7.34 to $14.76. Warner Bros. Discovery shares are down 40% over the last year.
