Duke Energy (NYSE:DUK) reported quarterly earnings of $1.44 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.38 by 4.35 percent. This is a 20 percent increase over earnings of $1.20 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $7.671 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $7.236 billion by 6.01 percent. This is a 5.43 percent increase over sales of $7.276 billion the same period last year.
