GM's Silverado RST Range Exceeds Cybertruck And Other EV Rivals: Popular YouTuber Says 'This Truck Is A Swiss Army Knife'

General Motors (NYSE:GM) Chevrolet brand on Wednesday announced the estimated range for its Silverado RST EV and it is not only higher than rivals but also its original estimate.

What Happened: The Silverado RST EV has a GM-estimated range of 440 miles, higher than many of the competitors within the EV truck segment.

In comparison, Tesla’s higher-end version of the Cybertruck called Cyberbeast only has an estimated range of 320 miles. Rivian’s R1T offers a maximum of 410 miles of range and the more premium version of the Ford F-150 Lightning called Platinum only 300 miles.

During its unveiling, the company had estimated the vehicle’s range at 400 miles and price at above $105,000. The company has seemingly increased range and reduced price on nearing deliveries which is expected to start mid-2024. The vehicle now has a starting price tag of $94,500, slightly below the Cyberbeast but higher than the F-150 Lightning Platinum version.

Real-Life Range Test: Popular YouTuber Zack Nelson, better known as JerryRigEverything, on Wednesday drove the RST from Las Vegas Nevada to Phoenix Arizona to determine the vehicle’s range under real driving conditions. The vehicle drove 460 miles before shutting down completely in a parking lot.

“A truck is a tool and this truck is a Swiss army knife,” the YouTuber remarked in the video.
