BMW Shifts Gears with Analog Devices' E²B Ethernet Technology For Enhanced Vehicle Connectivity

Author: Shivani Kumaresan | March 06, 2024 12:35pm

Analog Devices Inc (NASDAQ:ADI) and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (OTC:BMWYY) BMW Group have partnered to adopt E²B, ADI’s 10BASE-T1S Ethernet to Edge bus technology within the automotive industry.

Ethernet connectivity is a key enabler of new, zonal architectures in automotive design and supports software-defined vehicles.

The BMW Group will be a leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to implement the technology.

Also, ADI’s E²B will be used in ambient lighting system design in the vehicles of the BMW Group in the future.

ADI has been working with BMW since 2018 to simplify bringing Ethernet to the Edge.

“We continue to deeply engage with the BMW Group to understand their next-generation needs and bring further optimized products to aid next-generation architectures, as well as bring continued cooperation on standardization,” said Yasmine King, Vice President, Automotive Cabin Experience at ADI.

With 10BASE-T1S with E²B technology, OEMs can synchronize lighting with other applications in the vehicle.

Price Action: ADI shares traded higher by 1.78% at $193.17 on the last check Wednesday.
