Toyota, Suzuki, Daihatsu Launch Mini-Commercial Electric Vans In Japan

Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) is launching a prototype mini-commercial electric van in partnership with Suzuki Motor Corporation (OTC:SZKMF) and Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd.
The exhibition event was organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) along with the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
The van is targeted at Japan's delivery industry, Reuters reported.
The small-size cars will use the BEV, or Batter Electric Vehicle system, powered by Toyota Motor's electrification technology.
Daihatsu will produce the vehicles, and Suzuki, Daihatsu, and Toyota will each release their version within fiscal 2023.
The vehicle will have a range of about 200 km per charge.
In a separate statement, Toyota Motor said it is launching a joint project to develop an Autonomous Light Vehicle that will run on Komatsu's Autonomous Haulage System.
Price Action: TM stock is trading lower by 0.08% to $141.90 premarket on the last check Thursday.
