Trump Beats Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga To Top Of Billboard With 'Justice For All'

Donald Trump has risen to the top of the Billboard chart tracking digital sales for a single that he collaborated with those jailed for participating in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

What Happened: The surprising accomplishment comes at a time when the former president is grappling with a possible criminal indictment and is campaigning to be elected as the next president of the United States.

Trump is featured as an artist on the song “Justice for All” along with J6 Prison Choir — which comprises members who have been arrested for their participation in Jan.6 riots.

Justice for All trumped over “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus and “Hold My Hand” by Lady Gaga in the chart. It was also ahead of “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen.

Billboard described the song as a recording of Trump reciting the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance mixed with the J6 Prison Choir singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Why It Matters: Trump recorded his part at Mar-a-Lago at the request of a group that supports families of those in prison for their participation in the Jan.6 riots, reported CNN.

The song was reportedly released on Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Spotify Technology S.A.’s platforms a day before Trump was due to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

The Jan. 6 riots involved the storming of the U.S. Capitol by supporters of Trump ahead of the counting of Electoral College votes before President Joe Biden was inaugurated.

A House committee unanimously recommended in January 2023 that Trump be investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice on four referrals in connection with the insurrection.

Meanwhile, Trump is facing a possible indictment in a probe related to the payment of hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential elections.
