Elon Musk said Twitter will get “much better” even as a “general amnesty” for suspended accounts began.

What Happened: Musk, while replying to a user who thanked him for restoring the suspended account, said that the platform would only get better.

It was earlier reported that Musk's '"general amnesty" could bring back about 62,000 suspended Twitter accounts

Already some of the suspended accounts were restored, the users began thanking Musk. One of them even commending Musk for firing the employees who suspended her account.

Why It's Important: After Musk took over Twitter, it was said that hate speech had risen significantly on the platform.

U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff even shared data suggesting slurs against black and Jewish people, women and gay men have increased.

Musk refuted the statement saying, "hate speech impressions are actually down."

Last week, Musk suspended rap star "Ye," formerly known as Kanye West, from Twitter. Ye posted antisemitic comments and an image that appeared to show a swastika, a Nazi symbol, inside a Star of David, a symbol of Judaism.
